Vincent Givogre
Born in 1976 in Aix-en-Provence, I have always been involved in the visual arts.
After studying philosophy and ethnology at the "Faculté de Lettres" in Aix-en-Provence, I went on to take a professional acting course at the" Théâtre des Atelier" in Aix-en-Provence.
I am a graduate of the "École Supérieure d'Ébénisterie d'Avignon" (sculpture and gilding section) as a Furniture, Sculpture and Decorative Arts Technician.
I have been a full-time artist since 2015, working with wood and stone in direct carving, metal and bronze, as well as drawing and painting
My aesthetic research focuses on the body as a manifestation of being. Through an ontological questioning of issues such as visible/invisible, conscious/unconscious, subject/alternity, etc., anatomies are modified to take on singular forms. My “bodies”, like mirrors of the soul, bear the scars of my questioning, my doubts and my sensitivity. They are a representation of the world and individuals as I perceive and feel them.
